If you’re looking for a night of local and regional instrumental music on a Saturday night, head down to The Music Parlour this Saturday for the very first series of “The Sibei Series” hosted by local instrumental outfit, Arkentree.
The colloquialism ‘sibei’ is often used for hyperbolic effect by locals to emphasise the sheer magnitude of something. It is the Teochew/Hokkien equivalent of the F-bomb, employed to strengthen adjectives, when a ‘good’ or ‘awesome’ simply does not cut it.
With the aim to showcase original music and giving back to the community to inculcate a sense of togetherness in the local scene, Arkentree has invited Loch from Malaysia, Stranger Fox and one of our TROPOS alumni, Cut Out Heroes.
